I'm posting this in the hopes that it will spur some genuine musician
to improve upon it. I'm very eager to hear anyone's comments or
criticism. Or if anyone could even provide the real lyrics that would be
nice. It is a very well-crafted tune.

			Empty Garden by Elton John

I've been playing this out of D, which makes the following conversions:

	I 	= D  (XX0232)		V	= A (X02220)
	Isus2	= Dsus2 (XX0230)	Vsus2 	= Asus2 (X02200)
	II-	= Eminor (022000)	VI-	=Bminor (X24432)
	IV	= G (320003)or(320033)	bVII 	= C (X32010)

IV bVII IV bVII IV I
Blah Blah. Some said he blah blah blah in younger years

     IV I VI- IV
But he'd have said that blah blah stronger

  II- V I
Blah blah blah blah blah blah. Ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh

IV bVII IV bVII IV I
Lived there. Must have been a gardener who cared a lot.

      IV I VI- IV
Who weeded out the tears and grew a good crop.

  II- V I
Now blah blah blah rain.

      VI- IV
It's funny how an insect

      II-
Can damage

         I
So much grain

Chorus:

             Isus2 Vsus2
And I been knockin, but no one answers

         Isus2 VI-
I been knockin' most of the day-ay-ay

             IV VI-
Hey I been callin'. Say Hey Johnny

             IV I
Can you come out to play?

Repeat verse, repeat chorus, and fade out on something like:

     VI- IV V I
|: Johnny. Can you come out to play in your empty garden :|

What happened here
As the New York sunset disappeared
I found an empty garden among the flagstones there
Who lived here
He must have been a gardener that cared a lot
Who weeded out the tears and grew a good crop
And now it all looks strange
It's funny how one insect can damage so much grain

And what's it for
This little empty garden by the brownstone door
And in the cracks along the sidewalk nothing grows no more
Who lived here
He must have been a gardener that cared a lot
Who weeded out the tears and grew a good crop
And we are so amazed we're crippled and we're dazed
A gardener like that one no one can replace

And I've been knocking but no one answers
And I've been knocking most all the day
Oh and I've been calling oh hey hey Johnny
Can't you come out to play

And through their tears
Some say he farmed his best in younger years
But he'd have said that roots grow stronger if only he could hear
Who lived there
He must have been a gardener that cared a lot
Who weeded out the tears and grew a good crop
Now we pray for rain, and with every drop that falls
We hear, we hear your name
